Connection Before Content: The New Rules for Networking in 2026

Networking doesn’t have to feel awkward, forced, or exhausting. Connection Before Content is a guided UNnetworking experience designed to help you ease in, feel confident, and actually enjoy connecting—before the conference officially begins.

Through simple, human-first prompts and structured conversations, you’ll learn how to introduce yourself authentically, listen with intention, and build real connections without the pressure of “working the room.” No one is left standing alone, and no one has to pretend to be someone they’re not.

You’ll walk into Day One already recognizing faces, feeling grounded in the room, and connected to a community—before the content even starts.

Perfect for first-time attendees. Valuable for everyone.

Lead From Where You Are: The Ascend Shift in Higher Education

In higher education, it can be easy to wait: for the next title, the right opportunity, institutional permission, or someone else to solve the problem. But institutions transform when individuals decide to lead from the seats they already occupy.

In this energizing and higher education–grounded plenary, Dr. Kimberly Lowry challenges participants to examine both their internal leadership patterns and their institutional impact. Drawing on experience across community colleges and universities, she connects personal clarity to student success, cross-campus collaboration, and sustainable institutional change.

Participants will explore how hierarchy, hesitation, and self-doubt can quietly limit their leadership potential and how to shift those patterns. Through practical examples and reflective prompts, attendees will reframe leadership as daily influence rather than positional authority.

    Participants will leave able to:
    • Identify internal habits or assumptions that may be limiting their growth
    • Reframe their current role as a platform for meaningful institutional influence
    • Connect their work to broader student success and transformation goals
    • Commit to one bold, actionable leadership move within the next 30 days

    Ignite Unstoppable Momentum

There is no normal or new normal. There is only what’s now and what’s next. Changes, challenges, and uncertainty are hurtling toward us at breakneck speed, and it’s messy and unpredictable. This constant disruption and uncertainty has kicked off a brutal cycle of overwhelming for our leaders, teams, and organizations, leading to fear, resistance to change, and unhealthy levels of stress.

It’s time to stop the cycle. It’s time to Stop. Shift. And Reframe Change and Challenge; because we either adapt, grow, and move forward, or we stay stuck and are left behind.

In this inspiring, engaging keynote, Kim reveals a proven framework for reframing change, redefining resilience, and reimagining what's possible so we can all ignite Unstoppable Momentum and break the constant cycle of overwhelm in a world that never slows down.
