Lansing Community College

Placement testing is available virtually, via Zoom, and in-person at LCC’s Downtown Campus, by appointment, for any students who have not been able to waive the placement tests. Students may also take their placement tests at West Campus, East Campus and the Livingston County Center in Howell (see hours and location info below).

Please review the Zoom virtual testing information at the bottom of this page to determine if this option will work best for you.

Before scheduling your placement tests please review all the ways to receive placement levels without testing

Testing Services utilizes Zoom for virtual placement testing. Zoom is a free, live video meeting platform that allows you to take your exam from home, while being monitored by an LCC Testing Services proctor. For your privacy, LCC will not record video or audio from your testing session. Placement testing appointments with Zoom must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.

You will need the following in order to use Zoom for placement testing:
  • A desktop or laptop computer with high speed internet connection
  • A webcam and microphone (internal or external)
  • A photo ID (Drivers license, State ID, Passport, School ID)
  • A private room or isolated area where you can test alone
Please take the following steps in order to take your placement tests via Zoom
