We know that vital learning takes place outside of the classroom. With Prior Learning Experience, you can get credit for what you've learned in the workplace or the community.
Earning Prior Learning Credits (PLCs) can reduce the time involved in earning your degree and save you money; the more PLCs you earn, the fewer courses you need to take to complete your degree.
Examples of PLC Sources
- Earned Licensure or Certifications
- Military Training
- Other institutions, business, or industry
If you have prior coursework from a college, please submit an official transcript to the Registrar's office to receive transfer credit. For more information please visit our Transfer Equivalencies webpage.

Approved Credits are Added to your LCC Transcript
You will be notified via your LCC email that the credits were added to your LCC transcript.
What if I am denied credits?
If you feel the evaluation of your application and supporting documents was not correct, you may appeal the decision to the Dean of the Division in which credits were being sought. Contact the Dean of the Division to begin this process. Note that appeals must be received 3 months from the date of the credit application submission. The Dean's decision will be final.
