Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Process


To qualify for Financial Aid, students must complete and submit the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov using LCC’s school code: 002278.

2019-2020 FAFSA now available!

If you plan on attending Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and/or Summer 2020 semester, the 2019-2020 FAFSA is now available. Please be aware you will need to provide 2017 income information.

Ways to Cover Education Costs

There are four types of types of financial aid and we recommend that all students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA determines eligibility for need-based aid. The deadline for maximum consideration for the state is March 1; be sure to add LCC’s school code 002278.

Scholarships

We offer scholarships and awards based on financial need, academic merit, field of study, talent and athletic participation. Scholarships are funded through community organizations, the LCC Foundation, and employers; these funds do not need to be repaid.

Loans

You can borrow money from the federal government or a private lender. These funds must be repaid.

 
grants

Grants

We help you find government grants to based on your eligibility. LCC also offers grants help cover the costs of your education. These funds do not need to be repaid.

 
work study

Work Study

On- and off-campus employment opportunities allow you to earn the funds to help cover the costs of your educational expenses. As you work, you earn wages that may be used toward your school-related costs.

Financial Aid can now accept additional documentation to satisfy verification of FAFSA data. We are working on updating our system and processes to reflect these changes.
