PLACEMENT TESTING
Reading, writing and mathematics testing may be waived if you have the following:
- A high school transcript or GED within the past 10 years
- Certain scores on the SAT, ACT, AP, CLEP or ASVAB tests
- Completed college-level courses
DEVELOP "MY ACADEMIC PLAN" (MAP)
Meet with an LCC academic advisor to develop your MAP and attend orientation.
Attend an MSU admission and advising workshop

MSU Transfer Scholarships
The following scholarships are awarded to incoming students transferring to Michigan State University from another college or university. Dual enrollment, early/middle college and other credits earned during high school will not be considered. Individuals who have earned a bachelor’s degree are not eligible for consideration for transfer scholarships. The amount awarded to each student varies each year.
SPARTAN TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
Students transferring to MSU bringing 28 or more transferable credits with a cumulative GPA over 3.5
ASSOCIATE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Scholarship for any transfer student who has earned an associate degree in the past two years with a cumulative GPA over 3.0.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to top-ranking applicants demonstrating academic achievement.
PHI THETA KAPPA SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to a limited number of students transferring from a two-year institution who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher with a minimum of 42 credits and are members of Phi Theta Kappa. Learn more about LCC's Phi Theta Kappa Mu Tau Chapter.
