Lansing Community College

A 4-week no-cost College Connect initiative from July 8 – August 1, 2025 that will provide an introduction to the college experience and extra support for reading, writing, and math skills for recent high school graduates (graduation years 2023 – 2025), Michigan Reconnect participants new to LCC, or GED holders. Classes Begin Tuesday, July 8, 2025 – Read Important Information Below

Lansing Community College Orientation is mandatory. Visit the Orientation webpage, follow the instructions to include watching the orientation video by June 30, 2025 to ensure you are ready for the program.

Daily College Connect check-ins will be held in room 1204 in the Technology Learning Center (TLC) Learning Commons starting Tuesday, July 8th. You will receive your four-week cohort schedule on July 8th.

Parking is available on the 2nd floor of the Gannon ramp (campus map).

Resources

We recognize students may need additional resources to be successful in College Connect. Students will have access to the following resources:

  • LCC laptop and free Wi-Fi while on campus
  • Meals and snacks
  • Bus passes

Please bring your laptops daily as you will need them at some point in every session.

Eligible Students

  • Students who recently graduated from high school between 2023-25 and have not completed college-level Math or English courses
  • Individuals who recently completed their GED and have not completed college-level Math or English courses
  • Michigan Reconnect students who will be new to LCC Fall 2025 and have not completed college-level Math or English courses

Student Outcomes

Upon completion of the College Connect program, students will:

  • Be eligible to enroll in college-level English and Mathematics with or without co-support courses
  • Have experienced a college environment
  • Broaden knowledge of academic skills, college resources, and career readiness

Registration

To participate in the free College Connect Program, the following steps must be completed:

  1. Complete and submit the College Connect Intake Form:

  2. Fill out our admissions application to become an official LCC student. Remember to select Summer 2025 as your admission term.

    NOTE: Students with disabilities who may need accommodations during College Connect should contact the Center for Student Access (CSA). If you had an IEP or 504 plan in high school, CSA can take a copy to review to set up accommodations. You can access the Center for Student Access website, or call (517) 483-5323. Contacting CSA early helps ensure that accommodations are put in place as soon as possible.
