Event Details

Help-Portrait at LCC is on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gannon Commons on Lansing Community College’s Downtown Campus.

General Information

Each Family is offered:

10-15 minute photo session
Free, high-quality printed image (8x10)
Digital access to photos (flash drive or download link)
No Copyright Statement

Important Information

In an effort to ensure all families are able to participate, sessions are limited to no more than three poses per 15 minute session.
At the end of 15 minutes, the session will end and a volunteer will escort families to the activity area to wait for their images.
Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis and final portrait sessions are at 1:45 p.m. Those hoping to participate in Help-Portrait should arrive no later than 1:30 p.m.

Please park on the first level of the Gannon Parking Ramp located at 600 N. Grand Avenue, Lansing, MI and follow the signage to the Commons.

Volunteer

Are you looking for a way to give back to the community? Consider volunteering your time and skills at this year's Help-Portrait event! We are looking for Registration Staff, Family Guides, Image Runners, Photo Assistants, Face Painters and General Volunteers.

Volunteer Sign-Up

Volunteers must arrive at the event on the day-of at 8:30 a.m. for training and set-up.

About Help Portrait

Help-Portrait was founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart in 2008 with a mission to empower photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists to use their skills, tools and expertise to give back to their local community.

Each December, professionals all around the world will find people in need, take their picture, print their picture and then deliver it—free of charge.

Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. These portraits aren't for a portfolio, website, or sale. It's about giving people who otherwise couldn't afford photography, a chance to capture a moment, a memory…and a whole lot more.
