A note from Coach Meredith
I am excited to be the new Head Coach of Lansing Community College’s Cross Country and Track & Field program. I served as assistant coach last year, and I understand how special this program is, the commitment of our student-athletes, and the sense of community that surrounds our teams. This is the kind of program that I wish I was part of when I was in college.
What I enjoy most about coaching is being part of a student-athlete’s development. Watching them work through challenges and accomplish things they may not have thought were possible. That focus on growth is also at the heart of how I approach coaching. As a lifelong runner and now a research scientist, I have always been interested in understanding how people develop and improve. I believe good coaching starts with getting to know each student-athlete as an individual and understanding what they need to grow.
My goal is to continue building a program where student-athletes are supported academically, challenged athletically, and prepared for success after LCC. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a program with such a strong history and to build on the foundation created by the coaches and student-athletes who came before us.
Student Athlete Highlight: Bobby Wilson, Sophomore

- What are some of the best parts of being on the team? The team and social aspect of XC/TF is always a big factor of why I come to practice every day. To be a part of this culture is great because everybody is here to have fun and also to be better runners & teammates. You'll never find someone who isn't giving it their all, and that's inspiring.
- How has being a part of the team helped you all grow? Being on the team has helped me in a lot of little ways, as well as some big ones. I had a lot of great races in the cross season despite an injury and I broke a couple of my PR's in track from high school. I've also grown as a person. Looking back on my first year, I grew a lot more comfortable with myself and being around other people.
- What are you looking forward to for upcoming seasons? I am looking forward to helping the team achieve our group goals as well as meeting my own personal ones. We've got a lot of potential this year in both Cross and Track, and I'm excited to see what our freshman accomplish!
- What is special to you about the team? The comradery, respect, and understanding everybody has for one another is something I don't think you'll find on every team. Nobody's here to "carry the team" or be the fastest. When somebody breaks a PR or has an excellent workout, that's a win for all of us.
