Academic Success Coach
Hello! I was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and came to the United States in 1997 as
an international student to pursue a college education. My journey has been filled
with opportunities for growth, discovery, and learning, along with meaningful challenges
along the way.
I earned my Associate Degree from Lansing Community College before transferring to
Michigan State University, where I studied at James Madison College. I graduated in
2005 with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations.
During my time at LCC, I worked as student staff in several departments, including
the Student Affairs Dean’s Office, the Counseling and Advising Center, and the Writing
Center. At Michigan State University, I continued supporting students as an undergraduate
writing consultant at the MSU Writing Center.
I have always enjoyed working with people from diverse backgrounds. My professional
experience includes several years working with non-governmental organizations, serving
as a Consular Assistant at the United Kingdom Embassy in Cambodia, and working as
a Relationship Manager at ANZ Royal Bank. In 2015, I returned to Lansing Community
College as a Professional Tutor at the Learning Commons, where I mentored and coached
a diverse student population.
Since 2017, I have had the honor of serving as an Academic Success Coach at LCC, giving
back to the community that once supported me in achieving my academic and personal
goals.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling to Cambodia to visit family,
and spending time with friends.
