At times you may hear from your Academic Success Coach in response to an alert received from one of your instructors. This does not mean you are in trouble! It just means that your instructor recognizes that you may benefit from some additional support and we want to provide that. Sometimes instructors send alerts when students are not passing a class, not turning in work, or if they have shared that they are struggling.
Academic Success Coaches partner with faculty because we want you to have a great experience and get all the resources you need to be successful. If your Academic Success Coach or instructor reaches out about a specific class or concern, please respond! We want to work with you to identify anything that could help you succeed. Likewise, at times your instructor may recognize you may need some additional help with the content of a particular class or that you may need a resource from the Learning Commons. That may prompt a communication from tutoring and again, this simply means there are resources and support at the college to help you along the way.

Instructors and members of the LCC community:
You are able to see firsthand when students are experiencing barriers to success or showing signs that they may need additional support.
You can refer students to the Academic Success Coaches through an Academic Alert,
formerly known as an Early Alert. The alert process is a collegewide, collaborative
effort designed to support student success by identifying students who may be in danger
of failing one or more courses.
When an Academic Alert is initiated, the appropriate individuals from the Academic Success Coaches, Learning Commons, Athletics and K-12 Operations will attempt to personally connect with students and partner with faculty to provide additional support.
Feel free to contact us or submit a success coach referral at anytime. Even if you're not sure where to start, we'll help. Email us or feel free to directly reach out to anyone on our Success Team!
