What Is Occupational Student Support?

We provide personalized support to eligible occupational students to help them stay consistent in reaching their academic and career goals. Services are available for students based on eligibility and their self-identification in one or more of the following.

Do You Qualify for Perkins V Grant Support?

If you're a part-time or full-time student enrolled in an occupational program and meet one of the following categories, you might be eligible for our Perkins Special Population tailored student support services:

  • Registered LCC students enrolled in an approved occupational program.
    Additional qualifications may apply.
Who Can Apply?

Must meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria and be enrolled in an occupational program or have formally declared an intent to enroll in an occupational program.

  • Single Parent and/or Single Pregnant Woman: Unmarried or separated with custody of a minor child/children, or expecting the birth of a child.
  • Non-Traditional Career Trainee: Enrolled in an occupational program traditionally underrepresented by your gender.
  • English Learner: An individual with limited ability to communicate proficiently in English and whose native language is not English.
  • Individual with a Disability: Physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.
  • Economically Disadvantaged: From economically disadvantaged families, including foster children. Must be a recipient of Pell Grant or other need-based financial assistance.
  • Homeless Individuals: Lacking fixed, regular, and adequate housing.
  • Youth In or Aged Out of Foster Care System: Includes placements in foster homes, group homes, emergency shelters, and more.
  • Out of Workforce Individual (Formerly Displaced Homemaker): Under-employed or unemployed, experiencing difficulty in obtaining employment or upgrading employment.
