Current LCC students and employees can access research databases off-campus with their LCC username and password.
Use the Research Databases webpage to access the databases. If you are not logged in to D2L, myLCC or Banner, you will be asked to log in when you click on a database title.
If your access problems cannot be resolved by your research deadline, try the MeL databases at mel.org/az.php. These databases are available free to Michigan residents.
You can log into most databases using your LCC username and password, however there are a few databases, such as Artstor, O'Reilly Safari Learning Platform, and Learning Express Library which require you to set up an account.
If you receive a message that your username and password are not valid, call the Help Desk at (517) 483-5221 or toll free at 1-800-644-4522 option 3.
Some browsers work better with certain databases. If you are experiencing problems, try using a different browser (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer).
Sometimes clearing your browser's cache will solve the problem.
If you are accessing the databases from home, anti-virus or Internet security software may have to be disabled or modified.
If you have problems accessing the databases from work, check to see whether the computers are behind a firewall. The Library's remote access software does not work with computers behind firewalls. You may need to temporarily disable your firewall.
