Open educational resources, or OER, are freely available, openly licensed (usually Creative Commons) learning materials that can be legally downloaded, edited, and shared, to better serve all students.
At LCC, we are using OER to lower the cost of education for all students. To contact OER staff, please email oer@star.lcc.edu.
Faculty: If you are interested in adopting OER for your courses, or already do and you are not on this list, I'd love to hear about it. If you are OER curious, I'm here to help! -- Denise Warner, OER Faculty Fellow, warnerd@star.lcc.edu, (517) 483-5325
Note: Many no cost options that the library provides act as e-reserves. Contact your library liaison to supplement your course with a no cost resource.
OER are:
- Free to access
- Available from day one of your class
- Customizable to fit student's learning needs
LCC Courses that use OER or free materials
In some programs, not every section uses OER. See schedulebook for specific sections.
