You can access your library account on this page or from the Library Catalog. Log in to your account with your LCC username and password to view fines, items you have checked out, and update contact information.

Renew an Item

You can renew items online by following these steps:

  1. Log in to My Account.
  2. Click on the "Checked Out Items" button on the left.
  3. Select the items you want to renew.
  4. Click on the "Renew Selected" button above the item list.
  5. You should see a message by the due date with the new due date.
  6. You can also renew items by visiting or by calling the Checkout Desk at 517-483-1626

What Can be Renewed

  • Any item you have checked out from the LCC Library's collection can be renewed twice except for laptops, Kindles, iPads, and course reserves.
  • Books, CDs and documents you have ordered through MeLCat and interlibrary loan may be renewed once.

Why Can't I Renew An Item?

  • Another patron has requested the item.
  • Laptops, Kindles, iPads, and course reserves cannot be renewed.
  • Overdue items cannot be renewed online. Call the Checkout Desk for help.
  • You have renewed the item before and are at the limit.
  • DVDs requested through MeLCat cannot be renewed.

Place a Hold

Place a hold on an item to have staff pull the item from the shelf for you to pick up at the Checkout Desk. You can also place a hold if an item is checked out.

How to Place a Hold

  1. Locate the item in the Library Catalog.
  2. Click on the "Request" button.
  3. Log in to My Account with your username and password.
  4. Choose a pick-up location from the drop-down list.
  5. Click the "Submit" button.

How Long It Takes

  • Your request will be processed the next weekday after it is placed.
  • You will receive an email at your LCC email account to let you know the material is available.
  • Books are held at the Checkout Desk for 48 hours once they become available.

Get Materials Delivered

You can get materials delivered to an off-campus learning center.

What Can be Delivered

  • Books from LCC Library (except for Textbooks and Reference books)
  • Materials from other libraries borrowed with MeLCat or interlibrary loan (employees only)

Where Can Items be Delivered

  • West Campus student services desk
  • LCC East reception desk
  • Livingston County Center reception desk

How to Request Books from LCC

  1. Locate the item in the Library Catalog.
  2. Click on the "Request" button.
  3. Log in to My Accunt with your username and password.
  4. Choose a pick-up location from the drop-down list.
  5. Click the "Submit" button.

How to Request Materials from Other Libraries

Materials from other libraries can only be delivered off-campus to LCC employee mailboxes.

  1. Request the materials with MeLCat or Interlibrary Loan.
  2. Call the Checkout Desk at (517) 483-1626 or send an email to library@lcc.edu and let staff know your name, title of the item, location you would like the item sent to

How Long it Takes

  • Your request will be processed the next weekday after it is placed.
  • You will receive an email at your LCC email account letting you know the material was sent and when it should arrive. It can take up to two weekdays to receive an item.
  • Books are held for 48 hours once they become available.

Where to Return Materials

Return all materials to the location where you picked them up or to the Library Checkout Desk.
