Lansing Community College

Student Learning Assessment is the ongoing process of gathering, analyzing, and using evidence of student learning to strengthen teaching and learning and to improve educational outcomes. It helps faculty understand how well students are achieving course and program learning outcomes, and it supports continuous improvement across the college.

For faculty, assessment provides clear insight into what students are learning, where they may be struggling, and which instructional strategies are most effective. For students, assessment leads to more intentional course design, clearer expectations, and a learning experience that is continually refined to support their success.

Our goal is to make assessment meaningful, manageable, and collaborative—supporting faculty in using evidence to enhance learning while ensuring students benefit from high‑quality, equitable educational experiences.
