Lansing, Mich. - Lansing Community College will hold its 11th annual Veterans Memorial Induction Ceremony after a two-year hiatus at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the Health and Human Services Building (HHS) Fred Abood Rotunda, 515 N. Washington Square on the college’s Downtown Campus. The memorial is designed to honor Michigan veterans, emphasizing those in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.

This year, LCC will honor former Professor William F. Motz, U.S. Army; Charles B. Leighton, U.S. Air Force; and former LCC Trustee Larry L. Meyer, U.S. Navy.

“LCC’s Veterans Memorial is a lasting symbol of gratitude to those who have given so much,” LCC President Steve Robinson said. “It is a privilege for us to honor those that have served our nation.”

Since 2010, LCC has sought out nominations of local men and women who have served in the armed forces with distinguished service. Nominees can come from any branch of the service during any military action, conflict or war. There is a particular emphasis placed on World War II, Korean War and Vietnam-era veterans. LCC strives to honor our local service men and women who, while serving in any capacity in the military, distinguished themselves by extraordinary heroism or other action worthy of this commemoration.
