LANSING, Mich. – LCC’s cross country head coach Jim Robinson has been named the 2023 National Men’s Coach of the Year by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

He coaches both men’s and women’s cross country for LCC and coached the men’s cross country team to the 2023 NJCAA Division II Cross Country Championship. The team was led by individual runner-up Michael Dennis, who has been named National Athlete of the Week three times this season.

Robinson is in his ninth year as head coach and views the Coach of the Year honor as a team honor. “I would not have received this recognition without all the hard work of the members of the team, the help of my assistant coach Jim Carter, and the support of athletic director Greg Lattig,” Robinson said. “All of these pieces fitting together is what wins a national championship—all of the effort and training put in by the team is what led to this honor for me.”
