Other Information:
- Ron Dove was the Director of Personnel, the former name of Human Resources. (He is also featured in Images 002, 018 and 097.)
- Bruce Newman joined the staff at LCC around 1965 serving as the College’s Business Manager, then Controller, and then Vice President for Business & Finance until about 1994. (He is also featured in Images 018, 097, and 139.)
- Dale Herder held various positions at the college, but first and foremost he was a writing teacher in the Department of Language Skills (now the English Program). (He is also featured in Images 002, 097 and 139.)
- David (Dave) Froh was a Trustees on the LCC Board of Trustees from 1965 to 1985 and then again from 1986 to 1987. (He is also featured in Images 002, 064, and 097.)

Other Information:

Other Information:
- All three of the identified individuals were a part of the Aviation program in the 1980s.
- Mark Cosgrove (1) worked at LCC as Flight Instructor in the 1980s and then became the Director of Aviation Maintenance. He was the Dean of Technical Careers when he retired from LCC in May of 2020.

Image 095 - Welding Workshop

Date: ca. 1980s
Location: Welding Lab in the Gannon Building.
Description: Students practice welding in the old Welding Lab in the Gannon Building.
Other Information:
- The students are practicing oxyacetylene welding.
- This welding lab was in the Gannon Building when it was called the Gannon Vocational-Technical Building (south end of current Gannon Building).
- There was a large Dance classroom in the same hallway as the Welding Lab, with a small classroom between them.
- Sometime after this image was taken, the Welding Lab had brick barriers between the welding stations.

Other Information:
- Linda Uhler (2) was a Sign Language Services Coordinator.
- Loi Tran (3) was Coordinator of International and Refugee Services and worked with LEP (Limited English Proficiency) students. (He is also featured in Image 117.)
- Curlada Eure-Harris (5) is still at LCC and works in Counseling Services. She started as a part-time Student Affairs Instructor and then a part-time temporary Resource Information Staff Member in the Women's Resource Center (WRC), now the ARC (Adult Resource Center).
- John Cansfield (6) was Director of Student Services. (He is also featured in Images 037 and 117.)

Description: Poster boards showing the graduates of LCC's Community Leadership Development Academy from the 83/84 and 84/85 classes.
Other Information:
- The Community Leadership Development Academy was a semester long program offered to members of local businesses and nonprofits to develop individual leadership skills.
- It was run from about 1983 to 1998.
- There was at least one LCC employee in each group.
- Many graduates went on to serve the community on Boards of Directors of civic community organizations and non-profits.
- The Academy was facilitated by Donna McKeague in the early years, and Susan Mutty was the facilitator from 1990 until it was discontinued. (Susan is also featured in Image 150.)
- It was last offered through the BCI (Business & Community Institute), and it was discontinued because the mission of the BCI was to generate profit for the college and this program operated at a loss as a service to the community.

Image 092 - LCC Concepts Center

Date: ca. 1985 – 1993
Location: LCC Concepts Center in the Arts & Sciences Building.
Description: Students study and work with tutors in the LCC Concepts Center in the Arts & Sciences Building.
Other Information:
- When LCC switched to semesters this space was turned into a study/tutoring area for Science courses.
- The three Natural Sciences courses (NS 121, 122, 123) had a large group lecture, smaller group discussions and then the rest of the time was spent with audio-visual materials in the Concepts Center, which was known as the CC.
- The three Natural Sciences courses were: Physical World – NS 121, Geology and Astronomy (also known as "Rocks & Stars") – NS 122, and Living World – NS 123.
- The large group lectures for NS 121 were held in the old A&S amphitheater (A&S 170) while the NS 123 "Rocks & Stars" class used the Planetarium for their lectures.
- At this time there were 1,000 students each semester in the three NS courses, with the enrollment limited to that number in order to not overwhelm the Concepts Center.
- Prior to 1985, the Biology portions of the Natural Sciences (such as the Marine Environment) had their own area on the other side of the 4th floor of A&S, but these images are from when all the courses were merged into one space.

Other Information:
- Bill Motz (2) was a Professor of Marketing until his retirement in 2021. He was the leader/advisor of the LCC chapter of the American Marketing Association, known on campus as Marketing Club, which regularly won awards at the annual AMA International Collegiate Conference. (He is also featured in Images 044, 093, 125 and 172.)
- Bruce McCrea (3) was an Economics and Management Systems Professor and retired in the late 2000s. He was also an active Boy Scouts leader.
- Bill Blanchard (4) was lead faculty of the Motion Picture program at LCC.
- Richard (Dick) Howell (5) was a Professor in Information Technology. (He is also featured in Image 010.)
- Sources provide two names – Joe Warren and Jerry Onofryton – for #6. Joe Warren was a longtime Professor in History and Humanities, including Performing Arts, English and Social Sciences. He retired in 2014 after 45 years at LCC. Jerry Onofryton taught Geology in the Science Department. (He is also featured in Image 083.)

Image 088 - Capital Area United Way

Location: Outside the Arts & Sciences Building.
People: Douglas McKinstry.
Description: A group stands next to the Capital Area United Way progress tracking sign outside of the Arts & Sciences building.
Other Information:
- The man standing fourth from the right is Douglas McKinstry, who was Physical Plant Director until his retirement. Mr. McKinstry passed away in July 2021.
- The sign indicates that LCC's United Way campaign was successful, meeting their goal of raising $13,750.00.

- Barbara (Barb) Baumann (1) was the Director of the "St. John's Campus", the Clinton County Center, when it was still active.
- As of October 2021, Luis Garcia (2) was the Migrant Student Services Director at Michigan State University (MSU).
- Tom Burt (3) taught in the construction trades program and was one of the people responsible for the founding of the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE).
- William (Bill) Schaar (5) was the Dean of Student Personnel Services, the division now known as Student Affairs. (He is also featured in Images 018, 025 and 113.)

Other Information:
- The Women's Resource Center (WRC) is now known as the Adult Resource Center (ARC).
- Mary Lange is also featured in Image 041.

Other Information:
- Dorothy Carpenter (2) taught Nursing classes. She also helped design and then teach in the EMS/Paramedic program.
- Dorothy is also the aunt of Ann Selleck, the current [as of May 2024] Academic Coordinator in the Social Sciences & Humanities department in Arts & Sciences Division.
- Georgia Curry (3) was an Administrative Assistant in the President's Office, specifically serving as assistant to Dr. Dale Herder, Vice President. She worked in the old administration building which sat on the current location of the Health & Human Services Building (HHS). (She is also featured in Image 052.)
- Carolyn Haase (4) was the Chair of the Mathematical Skills department.
- Carolyn was instrumental in the conception of the math lab in the Arts & Sciences Building (A&S), provided input on the layout and construction and served as the Math Lab Director.
- When the Math Lab first opened at LCC it was an innovative approach to academic support and supplemental instruction for math students, providing walk-in and by-appointment tutoring, study areas and testing facilities during the day, evening and weekend to accommodate student needs.
- Jane White (5) was the Program Director for the Criminal Justice program. (She is also featured in Image 111.)
- Hortense Canady (7) worked in several positions in the Office of Financial Aid then served on the LCC Foundation Board of Directors for eight years before assuming the role of Foundation Director.
- Hortense was honored with a resolution from the LCC Board of Trustees on December 13, 2010. (The Resolution can be found on page 16 of the December 13, 2010 Board Packet.)

- The student fourth from the left has been identified as Cathy Lindquist. She became a welding instructor at LCC.

Other Information:
- John Thommen (2) retired in 2016 after 34 years at the college. He served as the full-time Radiologic Technology faculty and also as the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE)'s educational technology consultant, providing workshops and information to faculty who wished to enhance their courses with technology.
- John was also known for his Thommen Timely Tips T^3/Thommen Timely Tech Tips T^4.
- Mary Brown (3) was a faculty member in the Science department. She taught Biology and Integrated Science (ISCI) classes.
- Jerry Onofryton (4) was a faculty member in the Science department, possibly teaching Geology "Rocks and Stars."
- Tim Miank (5) was a faculty member in the Communications department, teaching Writing courses.
- Matt Rademacher (6) was a Reference Librarian.
- Ray Riskey (9) was a full-time Psychology professor at LCC from the 1970s into the mid-1990s when he passed away at home. He was a mentor to many and acknowledged that he had the messiest office on campus.

- The blue name tags worn by the staff in these images identify the majority as being a part of the Center for Student Support.
- Irene Lietz (1) wrote grants at the end of her time at LCC. Before that she worked in Student Services.
- Mary Fullmer (2) was a faculty member.
- Sue Cutler (3) was an LEP Instructor in the Center for Student Support.
- Jean Morciglio (4) was the Instructional Resource Coordinator in the Center for Student Support when this image was taken. She is also credited with starting the tutoring program at the college and before she left was the Director of what is now the CEWD division. (She is also featured in Image 100.)
- Velma Lohmann (5) was Program Director in the Center for Student Support.
- Rogelio "Rollie" Alfaro (6) was a counselor at LCC for many years. He was bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish, and wore a 3-piece suit to work on most days. Mr. Alfaro passed away on September 13, 2021 (https://www.palmerbush.com/obituary/dcn-rogelio-rollie-alfaro).
- Marianne Robbins (7) was an office manager in the counseling office and later transitioned to the academic affairs office. At some point in her time at LCC she also worked in the Small Business Development office. (She is also featured in Image 134.)

- Kay Parkhouse (1) was the Director of Financial Aid and also worked in Human Resources during her time at LCC.
- James Hendrickson (2) was a faculty member in Communications. He possibly taught Spanish. (He is also featured in Image 041.)
- Paula Rollins (4) was a Graphic Artist at LCC.
- Leonard "Len" Peterson (5) was an Economics faculty member. He retired from the college in the mid to late 1980s.
- Nancy Lombardi (7) was the Chair of the Art Department.

- Carol Geer was a longtime faculty member in the business division and was one of the first inductees in the LCC Distinguished Hall of Fame (see Image 041).
- Toni Glasscoe worked for the City of Lansing before joining the staff at LCC where she is now the Associate Vice President of External Affairs, Development & K-12 Operations. (She is also featured in Image 152.)

Other Information:
- Cecil MacDonald, David Froh, Lee Trumble, David Diehl, Albert Boyd and John Dart were the original six trustees elected to serve beginning in January 1965.
- David Diehl was the longest serving trustee, serving from 1965 to 1989. (He is also featured in Image 018.)
- Marilyn Wagner was the first female trustee at LCC. She served from 1967 to 1969.
- John Dart was a trustee from 1965 to 1979. At the end of his time serving on the board, LCC named the newly constructed performing arts center, the Dart Auditorium, in his honor. (He is also featured in Image 018.)

Image 056 - Business Hall of Fame Display

Date: March 20, 1981
Location: Second floor in the Old Central Building.
People: President Philip Gannon (2nd from left).
Description: President Gannon removes the covering to reveal the Capitol Area Business Hall of Fame display cases on the second floor of Old Central.
Other Information:
- The Capitol Area Business Hall of Fame was a cooperative effort of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and Lansing Community College.
- Illustrated plaques honoring inductees of the hall were displayed in the cases.
- The Chamber provided the plaques and LCC maintained the cases.
- The hall's first members were past winners of the chamber's community service award, which was started in 1948.
- Past community service award winners include Philip Gannon (LCC President) in 1974.

Image 054 - Tour of Weight Room Facilities

Location: Weight Room in the Gannon Building basement.

Description: Jeff Buchin, an instructor for weight lifting courses and a Physical Plant Department employee, leads a tour of the new weight room in the Gannon Building.
Other Information:
- The weight room was in the basement of the Gannon Building next to the pool. Both the weight room and the pool were underneath where the Student Commons is now located.
- The weight room was in this space until it moved to its current location in 2007.
- If there was heavy enough rain, the room was prone to flooding.

- Barry Stearns was an Associate Professor and Counselor in Student Development Services.
- Jim (James) Platte was Dean of the Division of TeleCommunications & the Arts. (He is also featured in Images 018, 032 and 115.)
- Ron (Ronald) Roush was the Director of Public Safety.
- Georgia Curry was Administrative Assistant in the President’s Office. (She is also featured in Image 085.)
- Jim (James) Bollman was Director of Business Services.
- Dave (David) Davidson was Assistant Director of Personnel. (He is also featured in Image 115.)
- Chuck (Charles) Bettinson was Executive Director of the Business & Industry Institute. (He is also featured in Images 097 and 098.)
- Bill (William) Schaar was Dean of the Division of Student Personnel Services. (He is also featured in Images 018, 087 and 113.)
- The date was determined based on the fact that there are 16 Board of Trustees headshots in the display on the right wall. Sharon Reid was the 16th board member and her term started in 1987. The term of the 17th board member began in 1989.
- Employee job titles were pulled from the archived course catalogs available on the website of the Registrar's Office.

Image 051 - Cashier's Office

Date: ca. 1983-1984
Location: Cashier's Office in Student Personnel Services (SPS) Building (now the Mackinaw Building).
People: B.J. Hendy (seated).
Description: Three women gather around paperwork on a desk in the Cashier's Office which was located in the Student Personnel Services Building which is now the Mackinaw Building.
Other Information:
- The date was determined using information from within the image:
- At least two of the labels on the file drawers to the left include the year '83.
- The label on the box on the floor on the right includes the year '83.
- The binder sitting on the table just to the right of the wall calendar is labeled "Lansing Community College Self-Study 1983."
- The calendar on the back wall is a leap year in which February 29th is a Wednesday and December 1st is a Saturday. This occurred in 1984.
- It was suggested that the person sitting at the desk was named June and worked in the Physical Plant area.
- It was suggested that the person standing on the left is named Pauline Baxter.
