2+2+2 Engineering Program
*Not Awarding for the 2024-2025 Academic Year*
Lansing School District, Lansing Community College, and Michigan State University who are interested in pursuing an engineering degree.
Criteria
Students admitted into the program begin junior year of high school. After graduation, the student will continue through Lansing Community College's Pre-engineering program, then complete in the MSU College of Engineering. High School Juniors and Seniors admitted to the program are required to:
- Enroll in appropriate courses
- Attend classes and special activities at least 90% of the time
- Maintain at least 3.0 GPA
Amount
Full tuition and $205 fee allowance scholarship up to four years at LCC and two years (max 5 semesters) at MSU.

Health & Human Services Rapid Entry Certificate Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to students currently enrolled or seeking enrollment in any of the Health and Human Services certificate programs referred to as rapid entry or stackable certificates.
Criteria
These certificates range from one semester to three and are not eligible for financial aid according to federal guidelines. These certificates include the following:
- Basic Emergency Medical Technician
- EKG Technician
- Human Services certificate of completion
- Long-Term Care Nurse Aide
- Medical Insurance Billing and Coding
- Pharmacy Technician
- Phlebotomy Technician
- Sterile Processing Technician
The award covers a maximum of three semesters during a single award year and awards up to 15 credits for tuition and course fees based on program of study or pathway.
The award recipient must:
- Be a high school graduate or achieved a GED
- Pursue an approved LCC Pathway or Program of Study for rapid entry certificates
Selection based on:
- Approved LCC Pathway or Program of Study
- Written personal statement to include career goals and financial plan for education
- Program or Pathway not eligible for financial aid (based on number of credits)
- Current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file to verify financial aid eligibility
Priority selection based on:
- Newly offered certificates or programs
- Current Workforce demand (based on local, state, or national shortages)
Award Renewal (second or third semester) Requirements:
- Follow an approved LCC Pathway
- Maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher

Up to 15 billing hours & tuition rate + all fees for program

Insurance and Risk Management AB Degree Award
Lansing Community College offers the Insurance and Risk Management AB Degree Awards to currently enrolled, or returning students who:
Plan to complete a two-year occupational degree at LCC (Curriculum in Insurance and Risk Management AB Degree); Whose primary objective in attending LCC is to seek education and the acquisition of skills needed to enter the work force or to advance their current careers.
The award covers a maximum of three semesters during a single academic year. Renewal each semester is contingent upon the recipient meeting all award renewal requirements listed below.
Award recipients must:
- Must be a resident of the state of Michigan. Learn more information regarding residency requirements.
- Be a high school graduate.
- Pursue an Insurance and Risk Management AB Degree.
- Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.0 (new student) OR a cumulative college grade point average of at least 3.0 (currently enrolled or returning student).
Selection is based on:
- Program of Study
- GPA
- Written personal statement
This award renews with successful completion of at least six credits fall and spring semesters of coursework from the Insurance and Risk Management AB Degree Pathway, and maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Honors Program Awards
Each year, up to 36 awards are offered to new students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and who plan to complete an associate degree seeking program (Associate in Arts, Associate in Business, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Arts or Associate in Applied Science).
Criteria
Lansing Community College offers Honors Program Awards to new and continuing students who:
- Have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.
- Follow an approved LCC program pathway.
- Plan to complete a two-year associate degree seeking program (Associate in Arts, Associate in Business, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Arts or Associate in Applied Science, or transfer to a four-year institution.
- Want to be an active participant in the LCC Honors Program.
An award recipient must:
- Be a resident of the state of Michigan. Learn more information regarding residency requirements.
- Be a high school graduate
- Plan to enroll in and successfully complete at least twelve academic credits in the Fall and Spring semesters. Summer semester enrollment is optional. Summer semester requires at least three approved credits.
- Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.5
- Have a composite SAT score of at least a 1110 or a composite ACT score of at least 22, or a score of 7 on the writing and math placement tests as determined by the LCC Testing Center.
Selection is based on:
- Grade point average
- SAT/ACT scores; placement levels
- A written personal statement

Honors Program Award recipients automatically become members of the LCC Honors Program and must participate as a condition of the award.
The Honors Program provides:
- Enriched courses
- Special advising services
- Community service options
- Enhanced learning opportunities for students capable of a special challenge in higher education.
Honors Program Requirements
In order to maintain their membership in the Honors Program and retain their Honors Program Award, students must:
- Follow an approved LCC program pathway.
- Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
- Successfully complete at least twelve approved credits fall and spring semesters.
- Successfully complete at least three Honors courses or sections each academic year.
- Successfully complete Honors Colloquy each fall semester.
- Submit their proposed class schedules for approval before registering each semester.
Divisional Program Awards
Each year, up to 75 awards are offered to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and plan to complete a one-year certificate of completion or a two-year occupational degree at LCC.
Lansing Community College offers Divisional Program Awards to new, currently enrolled, or returning students who:
- Have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement
- Plan to complete a one-year certificate of completion or a two-year occupational degree at LCC, or transfer to a four-year institution (Curriculum in applied arts, applied science, and business, may be found at Applied Degrees and Certificates.)

Star Scholarship
LCC offers Star Scholarships annually to graduating seniors who attended, or were home-schooled, within the following eligible K-12 public school districts: Bath, Dansville, DeWitt, East Lansing, Grand Ledge, Haslett, Holt/Dimondale, Lansing, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Waverly, Webberville and Williamston.

- Be college ready in reading, writing and math through SAT/ACT scores or the LCC Testing Center.
- Reading: Level 5 on LCC Placement, 24 or higher on SAT Reading or 20 or higher on ACT Reading
- Writing: Level 6 on LCC Placement, 24 or higher on SAT Writing & Language or 20 or higher on ACT English
- Math: Level 5 on LCC Placement, 550 on SAT Math or 22 or higher on ACT Math

Student Leadership Academy Service Scholarships
Each year, up to 23 awards are offered to students who are interested in gaining additional leadership and community service experience through a two-year leadership curriculum while concurrently following a primary college program of study.
Lansing Community College offers Student Leadership Academy Awards to new or returning students who
- Wish to gain additional leadership and community service experiences while following a primary college program of study
- Are willing to be active participants in the LCC Student Leadership Academy

An Award Recipient Must
- Attend a mandatory Scholarship Program Orientation (Fall).

- Maintain at least a 2.5 grade in LEAD courses and a 2.5 overall grade point average.
- Serve as a student representative on an assigned college wide committee.
- Participate in planned community service projects including on-campus engagement activities and events.
- Complete an approved individual service project.
