The Community Paramedic program is intended for licensed paramedics who have an interest in serving their communities in an expanded role as Community Paramedics. This state-approved course combines online and in-person instruction to accommodate the schedules of EMS professionals. In addition to online coursework and lab experiences, students will complete 160 clinical hours. Students who successfully complete this program will receive a Certificate of Completion in Community Paramedicine.

Admission Criteria
- Currently licensed as a Paramedic with the state of Michigan.

Scholarship Opportunity
Currently, all students who enroll in the program will receive a minimum of a $500 scholarship. Students who work for agencies interested in serving their communities through Community Paramedicine programs can apply for an additional $2500 Scholarship.
The application that EMS agencies are required to complete can be found at the following link: CIP Special Study Application 2019. Up to 4 individuals at each agency can qualify for the $2500 scholarship. Agencies are required to complete only Section 1 of the document (the first two pages) then submit to Kristine Kuhl at KuhlK2@michigan.gov in the MI EMS office.
Deadline to have agency applications submitted to Kristine is August 3, 2020.
