LCC leader to appear at two local Juneteenth events

LCC is proud to support two local Juneteenth celebrations, with Associate Vice President Toni Glasscoe participating in both events.
Glasscoe will deliver the keynote address at the kick-off ceremony for the Lansing Juneteenth Celebration’s 33rd annual event. The ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at The Changemakers Center at LCC. Opened in February 2026 on the third floor of the Gannon Building, the center features immersive storytelling highlighting 30 influential African Americans who helped shape Lansing.
The Lansing Juneteenth Celebration will continue through June 20 and conclude with the Juneteenth Freedom Festival at St. Joseph Park.
In addition, Glasscoe will serve as a panelist during the Healthy People Creating Healthy Communities discussion as part of the 517 Juneteenth Weekend celebration. The panel will explore how investing in mental wellness, physical health and education can create lasting positive impacts throughout the community. The discussion begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in The Cadillac Room in REO Town. Community members are encouraged to RSVP.
The 517 Juneteenth Weekend will also feature an ice cream social, festival and block party.
Both events are open to the public.
