LCC to celebrate National Apprenticeship Day

College joins U.S. Department of Labor in recognizing employers and apprentices

LANSING, Mich. — On Wednesday, April 30, LCC will join with the U.S. Department of Labor in celebrating National Apprenticeship Day.

According to the Labor Department, registered apprenticeship strengthens the economy by developing a highly skilled workforce to meet industry needs and creating pathways for career seekers to achieve in-demand jobs.

LCC is shining the spotlight on two of its many apprenticeship programs and the sponsoring employers in recognition of National Apprenticeship Day.

LCC Technical Careers Division
BEKUM America Corporation
BEKUM has sponsored 19 apprentices through LCC during the 2024-2025 academic year, including industrial electricians, mechatronics technicians, fabrication welders, machinists, and machine builders.

LCC Health and Human Services Division
East Lansing Fire Department
East Lansing Fire Department sponsors emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and first responder apprentices.
