Judy McQueen Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Judy McQueen passed away on April 11, 2025. She was born July 30, 1938, in Holland, MI. Judy designed and presented educational programs at MSU for 21 years and was the first coordinator of the Women's Resource Center (now the Adult Resource Center) at Lansing Community College for 11 years. Earlier, she was a staff reporter and free-lance writer for the Lansing State Journal, the owner-escort of Capital Area Tours, leading 63 cruises, and the Public Relations Director for both Capital Area United Way and Weight Watchers of Western Michigan.

Past awards include the 2000 Distinguished Alumni Award from Lansing Community College and the YWCA Diana Award for Outstanding Community Contributions. Judy was a long-time member of Plymouth Congregational Church and, more recently, Mayflower Church, a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and active in many community organizations.

Judy was a proud LCC alumna and played a pivotal role in developing the Women’s Resource Center, which supported many non-traditional students in their studies at LCC. Judy’s friends and family have established this memorial endowment to honor her legacy and dedication to furthering the education of students from all backgrounds, especially non-traditional students who are also parents of school-age children.
