Butch Nye Memorial Scholarship for Mechanics

Butch Nye was a lifelong Mid-Michigan resident whose passion for mechanics grew from a hobby into a fulfilling career. Over the years, he honed his craft and ultimately retired as the service manager at University Oldsmobile. Beyond the shop floor, Butch spent countless hours building and restoring classic cars for friends and family — a labor of love that reflected his dedication, patience and pride in a job well done.

The Butch Nye Memorial Scholarship honors his legacy by supporting the next generation of skilled mechanics at Lansing Community College, helping aspiring automotive technicians access the education and training they need to build careers of their own.
