The annual Student Recognition Celebration is traditionally held to honor outstanding Lansing Community College students in the areas of academics, community service and involvement in co-curricular activities.
This year's event will be held on Thursday April 18 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the main campus Michigan Room and will begin at 11:00am with a breakfast buffet, followed by the awards program.

College Awards
Thank you for nominating a student or student organization for a college award. Please note the following:
- Each award winner and nominator will be invited to the event.
- Winners may invite (1) guest.
- Award nomination deadline is March 22, 2024.
- Award winners will be notified by March 29, 2024.
Emerging Student Leader Award
Nominated students must have shown exemplary leadership qualities over the last academic year through student organizations, service, scholarship or commitment to the advancement of the mission and goals of Lansing Community College.
Community Collaboration Award
Nominated students or student organizations must have demonstrated outstanding community collaborative initiatives through support for programming, financial assistance, or people power. Activities which support consensus building and community building will be considered. (Awarded to students or student organizations)
Outstanding Student Employee Award
Nominated student employees must have made a positive impact on the college, department or program and demonstrated an exceptional quality of work, initiative and professionalism while attending Lansing Community College.
College awards will be based on the strength of the award eligibility statement and chosen by a selection committee.

Department, Program or Student Organization Awards
Thank you for presenting a department, program or student organization award. Please note the following:
- Each nominator (or designee) must be in attendance at the event to present their award to the student or student organization.
- Student awardees may invite (1) guest.
- Deadline for program submissions is March 22, 2024.
Department Award
Administrators, faculty and staff may award students for a departmental academic achievement in any program of study. Nominators are responsible for supplying and presenting their own awards. Student Life will supply blank certificates if requested.
Program Award
Administrators, faculty and staff may award students for an outstanding achievement as a participant in an LCC program. Nominators are responsible for supplying and presenting their own awards. Student Life will supply blank certificates if requested.
Registered Student Organization Award
Student Organization advisors may award students for their exemplary leadership qualities as an officer or member of an LCC registered student group. Nominators are responsible for supplying and presenting their own awards. Student life will supply blank certificates if requested.
