Notice of LPN Accreditation and PN Licensure
To align with the Michigan State Board of Nursing’s Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) accreditation requirements, LCC is pursuing specific LPN accreditation. We are preparing for our scheduled accreditation site visit that will occur September 2025. We are excited for this opportunity and are committed to meeting the standards as put forth by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Depending on when we receive accreditation status for the PN portion of LCC’s Career Ladder Nursing program from both ACEN and the State of Michigan Board of Nursing, students entering Fall 2025 may not be able to earn the PN certificate after the completion of the second-level courses.
Students enrolled by Spring 2025 are unaffected and after successful completion of their second level nursing courses will still be able to earn their PN Certificate of Achievement and pursue the NCLEX-PN exam if they choose.
Those who have already taken the NCLEX-PN exam are also unaffected by these changes.
Please know the RN program is unaffected by the changes in the LPN accreditation requirements.
