Business, GA
Overview
This degree is designed for students wishing to work in any Business-related field. The degree includes a common set of courses applicable to all Business majors and for all transfer institutions. Students beginning their college study in this degree program are encouraged to work with academic and program advisors throughout their first few semesters of study to determine their specific major area and transfer destination (if transfer is a goal). Students may select the Business Transfer Studies degree geared to any transfer major, including Economics, or a specific Associate in Business major (Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Institutions, Human Resource Management, Insurance and Risk Management, International Business, Management, Marketing), which prepares students to work in the field on completion of the Associate degree and may also allow transfer to specific institutions.

Overview
Economics is the study of the choices people have to make because wants are unlimited but the resources available to satisfy those wants are scarce. It analyzes and evaluates the functioning and outcomes of markets at both a micro (individuals and firms) and macro (aggregate) level, and offers insights into profits, growth, welfare, efficiency, and the distribution of wealth and income. Economics is an essential aspect of daily life, and many fields, including business and financial management, accounting, securities and stock investing, and insurance sales, apply economic principles.
