With the availability of remote operations, LCC rarely closes entirely due to weather. Instead, if conditions warrant, the college might opt to “suspend operations” at some or all campuses for the day.

If LCC suspends operations at physical campuses, you will receive an alert to your LCC Gmail as well as any phone you have added to our Emergency Alert System. In addition, you can always check lcc.edu, LCC social media or local media for information on snowy mornings.

When the college suspends physical operations:

• If you have an online or online real-time (ORT) course, your class will continue as scheduled.
• If you have a face-to-face or hybrid course, you should check your syllabus to see what to do. All syllabi include a section with emergency day information, telling you how your class will handle snow days.

The best thing you can do on a day with suspended operations on physical campuses is check your LCC Gmail and your D2L email for information. Please contact your professor or instructor if you have questions regarding your class.
