LCC to host veteran benefits bootcamp

LCC’s Center for Veteran and Family Support will host a benefits bootcamp for veterans and their families from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at West Campus, located at 5708 Cornerstone Drive.

The event is open to all current, potential and former LCC students, veterans and military-connected community members who are looking for assistance with veteran and military benefits.

The bootcamp will cover the following topics:

  • Personalized guidance on maximizing education benefits
  • Assistance completing applications for benefits
  • DEERS and ID Cards Services: On-site verification and updates
  • DD214 support: Help obtaining and understanding military service records
  • Veteran Affairs (VA) health care support: Connect with VA resources and get help enrolling in VA healthcare
  • Speak with Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) representatives
  • GI Bill guidance
  • Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) information
  • Michigan National Guard State Tuition Assistance Program (MINGSTAP) details

LCC’s Center for Veteran and Family Support will also provide an Education Benefit Presentation at the beginning and end of the event.
