LCC Theatre's ‘Eurydice’ offers a modern twist on an ancient story

LCC Performing Arts presents “Eurydice,” by Sarah Ruhl, for its fall mainstage production. The play, first performed in 2003, reimagines the classic Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, setting it in the 20th century.
In this adaptation, the playwright tells the classic myth through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. With contemporary characters, ingenious plot twists and breathtaking visual effects, the play is a fresh look at a timeless love story.
“Eurydice” runs in Dart Auditorium on Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 13-14, with Friday and Saturday shows beginning at 7 p.m. and the Sunday show at 2 p.m.
Admission is free. Audience members should visit the box office to pick up a seat voucher for entry into the theater. The box office will open ½ hour before curtain. Reservations will not be taken.
