LCC Theatre opens season with ‘Collective Rage’

LCC Performing Arts presents “Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties,” by Jen Silverman. The play premiered off-Broadway in 2018 and received two Drama League Award nominations.

Betty is rich; Betty is lonely; Betty is busy working on her truck; Betty wants to talk about love, but Betty needs to hit something. Five different women named Betty collide at the intersection of anger, sex, love and the “thea-tah” in an array of feministic and queer viewpoints.

“I think this is a play that is an invitation for anybody who has ever experienced being limited by the ways in which the world sees you,” said Mike Donahue, who directed the off-Broadway production. “What is so special is the story of the five of them coming together … in spite of how different they are.”

This play contains explicit language and adult themes and may not be suitable for all audience members. Recommended for adults 18+. For more information, contact Performing Arts Production Coordinator Paige Tufford at tuffordl@star.lcc.edu or call 517-483-1122.
