Police Department holding active violence training inside campus buildings this weekend
The Police Department will practice its active violence response inside the Health and Human Services Building and the West Campus building from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. Students and employees are asked to avoid those buildings during the drill.
Officers will mostly wear street clothes, and will carry blue training weapons that are clearly not real firearms. During the drill, they will practice their response to an on-campus active violence incident.
If you would like to brush up your own emergency preparedness, please join the Police Department for an educational session on what to do during an active violence situation. The training will be held 1-3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in the Gannon Building, room 2214.
If you aren’t able to attend the training, you can review the recommended response online.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this annual training!
