Calling student volunteers to work on LCC’s Neurodivergent-Friendly Campus initiative!
LCC is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students, including those who are neurodivergent.
We recently received a report from some of the best researchers in the field (from Landmark College’s Institute for Research and Training), full of ideas for how LCC can improve.
Now, we’re building workgroups dedicated to three categories of work from the report:
- Building Professional Development Pathways, including incorporating neurodiversity training in onboarding for new faculty and staff
- Social Integration, Inclusion and Community Building, including fostering a sense of belonging, reducing stigma, building trust and strengthening campus relationships
- Sensory-Friendly Environments, including designing common spaces and sensory breakrooms
Each of these workgroups will consist of students and LCC employees, as well as external stakeholders. If you’re interested in joining, please send an email to C3R@star.lcc.edu by Friday, Nov. 14. Be sure to include your name and which workgroup you are interested in joining.
Thank you, in advance, for your interest in improving LCC!
