Malcolm X Symposium offers live music, food and Lansing history panel discussion
Join LCC’s Black History Awareness Committee and Martin Luther King Jr. Equity Center in celebrating the Malcolm X Symposium. This year’s theme is “100 Years of Black Excellence in Historic Celebration.”
5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19
Gannon Building Michigan Room
Enjoy a panel discussion titled “Lansing 100 Years Ago,” featuring LCC English Faculty Dr. Ravon Keith, Community Historian Dennis Burnside, and LCC History Adjunct Faculty David Siwik. In addition, the event will feature:
- Live entertainment by violinist Salena Thompson as well as by the Kuungana African Drum and Dance Company
- Student presentations
- A Pop-Up Library
- A Black history display
- Heavy hors d’oeuvres
