LCC piloting a 15-week semester beginning fall 2026
LCC will move to a 15-week semester effective fall 2026, with some exceptions in the Health and Human Services (HHS) Division. The goal of the change is to reduce your stress and burnout, and help you stay on track to finish your degree or certificate.
Some courses’ start and end times will be adjusted to ensure classes meet for the required number of minutes based on billing hours and to allow time between classes.
LCC will still offer some courses in less than 15 weeks to help you schedule your education around your other commitments. The parts of term that the college will use for fall 2026 are:
- 15 weeks (Aug. 27 – Dec. 14, 2026)
- 12A (Aug. 27 – Nov. 18, 2026)
- 12B (Sept. 17 – Dec. 13, 2026)
- 7A (Aug. 27 – Oct. 14, 2026)
- 7B (Oct. 22 – Dec. 13, 2026)
- 16 weeks (Aug. 20 – Dec. 14, 2026), only for HHS accredited programs
Fall registration opens on Monday, April 27, 2026.
