Commons closing for construction this summer

The Gannon Building Commons will be closed beginning Monday, June 16, to make way for construction on the second floor of the building. Snack and beverage machines will be available in the lobby outside the Commons, near the Circle Drive entrance, or you are welcome to use the grab & go market stores in the HHS Building or TLC Building.

The renovation will create a dedicated Transfer Center on the second floor of Gannon. This will centralize LCC's transfer resources near the StarZone and Academic Success Coach Lounge and will provide the space needed for universities to come on-site to meet with students and host information sessions.

The initial plan was to close only a portion of the Commons, but the start of construction made it clear that the entire space should be closed to best ensure safety.

We anticipate the Commons will reopen on or around Aug. 8, in time for the fall semester. The overlook area on the second floor will remain closed until the Transfer Center opens in spring 2026.
