LCC adding multi-factor authentication to student accounts in 2026

Your student account will require multi-factor authentication beginning next year.

Multi-factor authentication is a security process that requires users to provide both a password and a second form of authentication – typically a one-time use code – to access a website or account. Adding multi-factor authentication to your account is a significant step in protecting your personal data.

LCC will use a multi-factor authentication service called Duo Security.

We do not yet have an exact date that this change will take effect, but it will be during the spring semester.

Stay tuned for information about an exact date as well as how you can add the Duo app to your phone to make your login easy. If you do not have a smartphone, you’ll have an option to complete your authentication via personal email instead.
