Lansing Community College

The METC Radiologic Technology Bridge Program is offered to members of the United States military who have completed training in Radiologic Technology at the Fort Sam Houston Military Education Training Campus (METC). It is a transfer agreement between the METC Campus and Lansing Community College (LCC).

This program offers the opportunity for Active Military and/or Veterans in Radiologic Technology to complete an associate degree at LCC as a requirement to qualify to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registry Exam in Radiography. Program Details:

  • Upon verification of program eligibility, Active military and/or Veterans will be granted up to 57 credits for their coursework in Radiologic Technology at the METC campus.
  • To earn an associate degree from LCC, 15 credits must be taken at LCC; either online or in-person (All 15 credits can be completed entirely online)
    • Credits are to be completed within the Core Education Course areas: English/Communication, Humanities and Fine Arts/Social Sciences, and Mathematics
  • The Science core requirement for LCC graduation is automatically waived
  • Please review the Mandatory Courses Required to Graduate section below for a list of courses that can be taken to satisfy the 15-credit residency requirement.  Any course listed with an asterisk (*) can be taken online.

    Eligibility for the METC Rad Tech Program is typically ONLY granted to veterans and/or service members who completed their METC Rad Tech training AFTER January 2017.  However, if you completed your METC Rad Tech training prior to January 2017 you are welcome to submit an application which will be evaluated by the Radiologic Technology Program Director and the Center for Veteran and Family Support Director.

  • METC Rad Tech Bridge Program Process

    Step 1 Icon College Admissions

    1. Meet with Military-Connect Admissions Rep
      Schedule Appointment
    2. Submit the Admissions application
    3. Setup student account
    4. Establish Placement Levels
    5. Discuss LCC Orientation
    6. Submit military transcripts
      • This must be done electronically through the JST or CCAF websites

    Step 2 Icon METC Rad Tech Program Admissions

    1. No later than 30 days prior to your intended start date at LCC, submit a METC Rad Tech Bridge Program registration form. This information will be sent to the Radiologic Technology Program Director.
      • Please include your military transcript showing your Rad Tech military occupation designation and training dates. Your registration will be reviewed for approval by the Radiologic Technology Program Director. Once you are notified of your acceptance into the program, you will be able to meet with the Academic Advisor and register for courses.

      Schedule Appointment
      • Meeting with the advisor will allow you to discuss course options and figure out what schedule meets your needs.
    2. Register for courses (Login to Banner Self Service)
      • Staff can assist with course registration.

    Step 4 Icon Military Benefits Counseling

    1. Meet with the VA Coordinator/School Certifying Official
      Schedule Appointment
      • Meeting with the VA Coordinator can be done concurrently when meeting with the Academic Advisor.
      • The VA Coordinator will provide guidance to determine how best to utilize the benefits that are available to you as a veteran.
      • The Center for Veteran and Family Support (CVFS) can provide assistance with submitting the VA GI Bill application if needed.
