Lansing, Mich. – Lansing Community College will observe Constitution Day with two events centered on visiting speaker Tim Alberta’s bestselling 2023 book, “The Kingdom, the Power and the Glory: American Evangelicals in the Age of Extremism.”
 
On Tuesday, September 15, Alberta will speak from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Michigan Room of the Gannon Building on LCC’s Downtown Campus. The event will facilitate a discussion of contemporary political developments in the arena of religion and politics. A meet-and-greet and book signing will immediately follow the presentation. Those who cannot attend in person are invited to join virtually via a WebEx link available on the event webpage.
 
Then, on Thursday, Sept. 17, LCC Political Science Professor Randy Watkins will host a trailing conversation on Alberta's talk, followed by an educational discussion of the First Amendment's religion clauses, from 10:10 a.m. to noon in the Gannon Building, room 3255.
