LCC honors Hispanic Heritage Month

People dancing at LCC to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

LANSING, Mich. Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) is observed each year from September 15 to October 15. LCC is proud to recognize and celebrate the contributions, diverse cultures, and history of the American Latino community.

This year’s national theme is “Unidos, Somos Más,” meaning “Together, we are more.” According to The National Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers, the month’s focus is “celebrating family, resilience, creativity, faith, and service.”

LCC is a proud sponsor of 517 Hispanic Heritage Weekend Sept. 17 through Sept. 20, in Downtown Lansing. There will be FREE activities all weekend, including a Latin Dance Class and Mixer, A Taste of Hispanic Heritage Festival, and Latin Jazz Night. View the full list of activities at 517hispanicheritage.com.

Be sure to visit the LCC Office of Empowerment Events webpage to see what activities they have planned throughout the month as we honor the power and progress of our Latino brothers and sisters.
