Lansing Community College (LCC) is committed to helping its graduates gain 4 valuable Essential Learning Outcomes: knowledge of human cultures and the physical and natural world, intellectual and practical skills, personal and social responsibility, and integrated and applied learning. With these strengths, our graduates will be better equipped and empowered to complete their goals while becoming engaged global citizens.
All associate degrees therefore incorporate LCC General Education requirements fostering the capabilities and the flexibility that employers look for, and that citizens of the 21st century need. Depending on their chosen degrees, students will successfully complete the options in the appropriate Transfer Degrees (MTA) tab or Applied Degrees tab of LCC General Education.
Appropriate transfer credit from other colleges and universities, along with credit from the list below, is applicable toward LCC General Education requirements for all degrees, including degrees that otherwise would require completion of the full Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).
- Advanced Placement (AP)
- Cambridge International
- College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
- DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST)
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Credit by Examination
- Credit for Experiential Learning
However, due to statewide rules, areas of prior learning such as Cambridge International, CLEP, DSST, IB, Credit by Examination, and Credit for Experiential Learning are not applicable to the MTA endorsement at this time.
