LCC began a significant campus overhaul in 2013 to bring major improvements to the entire 48-acre downtown campus and surrounding area. As part of that Build Forward Capital Campaign, a half percent of the total amount was set aside for public art purchases.

Our campus includes thousands of pieces of art, from sculptures and murals to framed images, as well as innovative, cutting-edge buildings, classrooms and student areas. Each day, our students, faculty, staff and members of the community have the opportunity to learn, grow and engage on campus through the college’s collection of outstanding, hands-on, imaginative art.

On campus, more than 20 sculptures and/or pieces of art make up a portion of the Downtown Sculpture Walk. Each stunningly crafted piece was selected with great thought and in collaboration with world-renowned sculptors, LCC alumni and current students, who all played diverse roles in the design, fabrication and engineering of the art on campus.

The off-campus sculptures included in the Sculpture Walk, also located downtown, are breathtaking, one-of-a-kind pieces that create an eclectic, artistic backdrop for downtown Lansing.
