Blue Student Course Evaluation System

LCC’s course evaluation system, Blue by Explorance (referred to as “Blue”), launched in Spring 2021, replacing LCC’s previous system, IDEA. As of August 25, 2025, we are running on Version 9 of their software.

What’s New in Blue Version 9
Key Changes for Faculty

New URL: https://my-lcc.bluera.com
New Homepage: A redesigned interface with customization options.
Access to Past Reports & Customizations: Faculty will retain previous data and settings but will use the updated interface.
Report Format: Minor visual differences, but data, PDF and CSV downloads remain unchanged.
Faculty Guide: A new guide (linked below) replaces all previous versions.

Minimal Impact on Students:

Surveys: Mostly unchanged, with minor graphic updates.
Access: Continues via links, but using the new URL.
- Any links placed in syllabi or other materials before Fall 2025 should be updated to https://my-lcc.bluera.com.
- Students will still access evaluations via D2L, pop-up links, email links, and posted links (with the updated URL).
New Homepage Layout: A refreshed design, similar to the Faculty Home Page.

Individual, Small Group and Departmental Consultations

Individual, Small Group and Departmental Consultations are available to suit your needs. In such a consultation, the CTE can address your specific areas of concern.

CTE Faculty Fellow Program

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) Faculty Fellow Program leverages the diverse expertise and unique strengths of our faculty through flexible fellowship opportunities ranging from one semester to two years or more.

Following a call for interest, applications are reviewed and selected faculty are invited for interviews. The number of fellows varies each semester, depending on the CTE’s evolving professional development, assessment, and data needs.

Faculty Fellows provide essential support that enables the CTE to deliver high-quality programming and services that benefit the entire faculty community. Fellowship roles are designed to align with the CTE’s priorities and are tailored to the strengths and experiences of each fellow. Open to both full-time and adjunct faculty, the program has been a vital part of the CTE for over 20 years, offering meaningful opportunities for faculty to share their talents, expand their institutional knowledge, and contribute to a culture of teaching excellence.

Faculty Appreciation Day

Although the Center celebrates faculty throughout the year, the CTE staff goes "Above and Beyond" during the month of April to recognize the important contributions of LCC Faculty to students and to LCC.

Sabbatical Leave Information

Full-time faculty members, both teaching faculty and academic professionals, are eligible for a sabbatical leave after six years of continuous service at the college.
