External Volunteers and Internships are permitted with prior approval from Human Resources. All volunteers who are providing services to students or the community on behalf of the College must complete the Volunteer Request Form and background check process prior to providing services.
The department requesting the services of a volunteer should provide the following information to Human Resources:
- A description of the service to be provided.
- Names and email address individual identified as a prospective volunteer.
- Projected start date.
Human Resources will review the request and determine the appropriateness of the volunteer process for the activities identified and will approve the request.

- Employees of LCC may not serve as a volunteer at LCC in the same or similar capacity/role as their employment role/capacity.
Upon approval by HR, the prospective volunteer will need to complete the Volunteer Request Form as well as the Criminal Background Check Authorization Form.
Completed forms will be reviewed by the Human Resources Department who will initiate the background screening process.
Once Human Resources has completed the background check they will notify the department as well as the volunteer when the volunteer is approved to begin providing services.
