What is Labor & Employee Relations?
Labor & Employee Relations is a way to foster a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace environment where employees are valued and respected, and where labor unions and management relations are built on mutual trust and collaboration. The College Labor & Employee Relations Team (LERT) assist management partners by providing guidance and resources to mitigate issues of conflict, with a goal of timely and positive resolution. The LERT also provides support to employee complaints.
What we do
The mission of the College and the Union with regard to Labor & Employee Relations is to maintain a relationship built on trust, cooperation and shared goals. The collective engagement of labor-management assures that decisions relating to interpretation and administration of all agreements are fair and appropriately balance the interest of all parties involved. Labor & Employee Relations engages in an effort to oversee the relationships between management, non-bargaining employees and bargaining unit members and union leaders.
The Labor & Employee Relations Team is responsible for Employee/Labor Relations, Performance Improvement Plans, Probationary Status, Performance Reviews, Letters of Agreement, Contract Interpretation, addressing performance issues, Contract Negotiations and other labor relations related questions.
