The LCC volleyball team suffered a 3-2 loss on Thursday, Oct. 6 at Glen Oaks Community College.

“We went five (sets) and ending up losing by two points in the fifth set,” LCC Head Coach Emily Quintero said.

The Stars lost the first game 29-25, won the second game 29-27, lost the third game 25-14, won the fourth game 25-14 and lost the last game 15-13.

The loss put the Stars’ overall record at 9-15, and at 4-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference.

“It was a battle and unfortunately we did not come out on top,” Quintero said.

Sophomore Olivia Sabec led LCC with 15 kills in the match. Sophomore teammate Katelyn Whiteman delivered 46 assists for the Stars. Freshman Macey Beyerlein had 24 digs for LCC.

“We will continue to work on minimizing our errors while executing the ball,” Quintero said.

The Stars are scheduled to play on Thursday, Oct. 13 against Lake Michigan College at the Don Johnson Fieldhouse in Lansing.
