Coming to LCC from Oct. 20–24, 2025 are a collection of events referred to as Transfer Week. The week is put on by the Transfer Center at LCC, and consists of four main events. These events are centered around providing LCC students with the tools and resources they need to prepare for the next steps toward a 4-year college or university.
The first event of Transfer Week is the Mini Transfer Fair, located in the Gannon Building Highway on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Representatives from over 15 Universities will be in attendance including Grand Valley State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Michigan. Representatives will be available to answer questions students might have.
The second event of Transfer Week is the Transfer FAQ Open House, located in the Transfer Center in room 2204 of the Gannon Building, on Tuesday Oct. 21, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Advertised as a more casual experience, students are encouraged to drop in and ask any transfer related questions to staff. This can be helpful for those who may not have the time to schedule an entire meeting, or just have one or two quick questions.
The third event of Transfer Week is Meet your Lansing Transfer Team, located in the Gannon Building Highway on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This event provides a chance for students to meet transfer advisors working at LCC who represent universities like Central Michigan, University of Michigan-Flint, Michigan State University, and more.
Finally, the fourth and last event of Transfer Week is Lunch with the Spartans, located in the Gannon Building in room 2214 on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025 from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This event gives students a chance to interact with representatives from the LCC to MSU transfer program, Envision Green. Additionally, the MSU Transfer Student Advisory Board—an organization of students who have transferred from LCC to MSU already—will be there for students to ask questions and hear their experiences.
Graham Berke, the Systems & Operations Manager at the Transfer Center encourages all LCC students to attend an event this week. “This exciting week is packed with resources, insights and networking opportunities to help transfer students prepare for the next steps toward a 4-year college or university,” Berke said. “It's the perfect chance to build your confidence, apply your strengths and get valuable guidance on your academic journey.”
For students interested in attending a transfer week event, the Transfer Center asks that they register online through the link provided on the Transfer Week webpage on the LCC website. Additionally, students are encouraged to review the Transfer FAQ Guide located on the LCC website, as well as exploring what sort of programs of study interest them, and what they want to prioritize when looking at possible future colleges.
