Whatever a good time looks like to you, it could likely be found Thursday, Aug. 29
during LCC’s annual Party With the Prez.
“I’m happy to be a big part of the event and make sure students know that when they come back, everyone is excited that they’re back, but the president is happy too!” said LCC President Dr. Steve Robinson.
The event was once again sponsored by CASE Credit Union, which upped the excitement level by providing a money tent in which student could grab cash.

CASE also had giveaways, with prizes ranging from gift cards to places like Jimmy
Johns and Target, to a new laptop. Free T-shirts were also given to the first 100
students who attended.
Spanning across the downtown LCC campus mall past the outdoor amphitheater, the event offered a mix of engaging experiences, giveaways, games and food from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., allowing all students to ‘party’ however they see fit.
Art student Kaity Silengo not only won over $30 in the money tent, but also had an accidental networking opportunity while at the caricature drawing.
“The caricature was fun to get,” Silengo said. “The guy who drew me gave me his business card, since I said I was interested in being a caricature artist!”
Tables stretched across the lawn filled with students enjoying the walking taco bar and excitedly greeting classmates they hadn’t seen since spring. Those just passing through could even enjoy free popcorn, sno-cones and cotton candy on their way into class, allowing even more students to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere.
Between giveaways and deejayed music sets, the amphitheater was also host to performances including a magic show by Jeff the Magician and a game of musical chairs, in which President Robinson took part.

While Party With the Prez is a longstanding tradition at LCC, there were also several
new attractions this year.
“The walking taco bar is new, the inflatable nightclub is new, we brought back the escape room,” Robinson said. “there’s all sorts of fun stuff. It’s just an awesome way to kick off the semester!”
