LCC is welcoming nearly 10,000 students this semester, up 3.7 percent over last fall.
The COVID-19 outbreak had damaging effects on enrollment numbers, and this fall LCC can celebrate, thanks to it dedicated recruitment staff and the many others involved in the Enrollment Management Taskforce (EMTF).
According to The Star, LCC’s employee newsletter, “One of the primary objectives of this taskforce has been to elevate critical issues and increase the urgency for their resolution, ensuring that momentum is sustained.”
In short, LCC’s EMTF focuses on maintaining student retention through excellent academic advising to confidently point students in the right direction.
“Enrollment is everyone’s job at LCC,” LCC President Dr. Steve Robinson said. “That means thanks are due to all employees for your work in promoting LCC and in offering a quality education and supportive atmosphere once students are here!”
Enrollment numbers are not the only ones looking up. LCC also saw a 7 percent increase in billable hours, meaning that when LCC is increasing its revenue, it could projectivity increase educational budgets to help students with the resources they need to succeed.
“Our final taskforce meeting in September will focus on outlining the next steps toward completing the identified major barriers and resulting projects,” Robinson said. “While the taskforce may be concluding, the work it has initiated will continue, ensuring we maintain the momentum and focus necessary to achieve these important objectives.”
