The Spring 2026 semester is here and LCC will be hosting events for students throughout the week of Jan. 12-16.
At West Campus, there will be free snacks and school supplies from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. You can find them under the stairs throughout this week.
There will be many chances to get free supplies and snacks throughout the Downtown Campus. Students who enter the Arts and Sciences Building are greeted by support staff from the Arts and Science Division office, Charlie Mirzewski and Lydia Warnke. “We are just helping direct students,” said Warnke. They are handing out free water and snacks to students, as well as lanyards so that students remember to bring their Starcards. “We’re just really excited to help some more students this semester,” said Mirzewski. “We like guiding people towards success.”
Throughout this week, there will be events that will be happening at the same time each day across the Downtown Campus. The Transfer Center is offering students free donuts from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. each day this week. Furthermore, students are also invited to the Office of Empowerment in A&S 1313 for Sip, Color, and Chill from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day to color, play games, and drink hot cocoa.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, students were welcomed to get coffee and make beaded keychains outside of the Success Coach Lounge. The Office of Empowerment also hosted two events on Tuesday, one being a fitness break featuring LCC’s Fitness Center and the other being a scholarship workshop.
Today, the Non-Profit/Government Agency Fair was held in the Gannon Building Highway from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Students met with many organizations to learn about potential volunteer, job, and internship opportunities. LCC will also host A Time Management and Study Strategy Workshop from 2:15 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. in Room 2214. This event will take place in the Gannon Building on both Wednesday and Thursday. Students can learn some tips and tricks to prepare and get organized for the spring semester.
Lastly, the Office of Empowerment will also hold another fitness break on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 12 – 2 p.m. in A&S 1313.
Students can check out the events calendar to see more details of the events for Welcome Back Week.
In the Transfer Center, students can get a doughnut by providing your name, your major,
